                               Kerala-the Cradle of Ayurveda
Ayurveda, which gives emphasis on prevention of diseases rather than cure, is a main part of India’s rich cultural heritage. It is also India’s most ancient and natural method of healing. Kerala is often referred to as the “Cradle of Ayurveda”. The origin of Ayurveda dates back to at least 3000 years, according to historians. Kerala has its own tradition in Ayurveda with contributions  from Ashtavaidya’s ( Traditional Physicians expert in eight branches of Ayurveda; ashta means 8 and vaidyas means traditional physicians). Vatha, Pitha and Kapha are the three Doshas of the Body. Thridoshas keep the body healthy when they are normal but when they become abnormal, it results in the contraction of diseases.
